unicorns and rainbows

I woke up around 6:00 a.m. Half awake I walked downstairs to see my toddler still crashed out. I walked back upstairs and fell back asleep. At 7:50 a.m. I woke back up. I again made the trip downstairs to see a sweet boy slowly waking up. I stood at his doorway and watched how his precious body rolled around and his arms reached above his head as he began to stretch. He quietly said momma. I walked in and was given a very warm welcome. I got a squeeze hug and a smooch right on the lips. And then a request for milk.
After breakfast we quickly got ready for church. As we drove to church Max was very excited because he was going to see his pal Caeden. Church came and went. Good message. Good worship. Nice time for Phil and I. Max was able to play and eat gold fishies with his friends.
We ate a yummy lunch out together as a family. This is rare because we don't eat out that often and especially not for lunch. We laughed and sang on our way home.
Nap time lasted for 3 hours. Max woke up super sweet and snugly. We had a snack. We baked muffins. We colored. We read. We raced. We talked.
Phil organized the garage.
We had Sunday dinner at the in laws. Max swam.
We came home. We read. We read. And we read some more.

We took a bubble bath. I kissed clean toes. We giggled. We read 3 bedtime stories. We said our prayers. We kissed goodnight. We exchanged I love yous. We tucked in tight.

Sounds like the perfect day, right?

This really happened today. The stars were aligned and all was perfect. Like unicorns and rainbows, perfect.
I am by no means trying to brag. Max has been a little off lately. He has teeth coming through. He no longer has his pacifier. Phil and I are in home makeover mode. And life has just been real busy. So today is just what I needed. I feel like I can go into this new week refreshed and recharged.
Life is good!
I really enjoyed him today. I do every day, but today I made an effort to shut the world out and just soak in all of him. He was hysterical today.

Wishing you all a unicorns and rainbows kind of week!
