Is there really a right way?

So after the paci debacle today it really got me thinking. Is there really a right way to parent?

From the moment you conceive there seems to be a right and wrong way to carry, birth, and raise a child.

I think I truly understand that each child and mother are their own person.

Even though I prefer Max to not have his paci, he is not ready. Yes, I could force him to be ready but what does that make me? An over bearing mother. Yes the argument could be that I am not parenting strong enough, yada yada yada. I have to pick and choose my battles. So what if he has his paci for another few months. He will be ready, just like he was when he got rid of the bottle, or started sleeping in his crib.

He is his own little spirit and I have to respect that.

Regardless of what others may think, there is only one right way. The right way is what you and your child choose to do.

So we may not be paci free but we are happy. And for now, this is the right answer.
