9 weeks!
How far along: 9 weeks
Size of baby: green olive, .9 inches
Weight gain/loss: +2 pound, 120 (the weight gain has to be from all the crackers and bread I have been eating) My mid wife this week told me she would be happy with a 25 pound weight gain but she would be happier if I gained 35 pounds. I looked at her like she was crazy. I have body issues as is. She explained to me that I am 10 pounds lighter then I was with Max and this baby's health is the most important thing. I agree, but it will be hard for me. I only gained 24 pounds with Max and only being 5'2" that seems like a lot more on my small frame.
Maternity clothes: nope!
Gender: ??? This baby will be a surprise! Although I must say that I have a VERY strong feeling this baby is a boy. No other reason then just a feeling. Around 9 weeks with Max I knew he was a boy. I knew. I would have bet anyone that it was a boy and I was right :) So I guess we will wait and see.
Movement: None, but I can't wait to feel this precious baby move!
Sleep: Exhausted, so sleepy all the time.
Exercise: Still running, but not long distances, weight training, and yoga/pilates. To be honest, my motivation to go to the gym is gone. I am either too sick or too tired. I go, but my workouts are not hard at all.
What I miss: Just feeling like my old self, having lots of energy and not being sick. I feel sorry for Max as I have really taken a back seat in parenting and Phil has really stepped up. I do know that this too shall pass.
Cravings: anything ICE cold, especially ice water with mostly ice and not a lot of water.
Aversions: Sweets. HELLO! I am the biggest sweets eater and they have been a total turn off to me. Pretty much anything with flavor!
Symptoms: tired, sick, and sore breasts. I have kind of figured out my nauseousness. If I eat super small bland meals (crackers, toast, dry cereal, plain noodles) every 2 hours I am not too sick. If I eat anything with flavor I am curled up in bed or over the toilet.
Best moment this week: Going to see my mid wife and scheduling our first ultra sound. She also moved my due date. I am due in March not April. March is a great month, my birthday, my sister in law's birthday and my nieces birthday is in March. As my mother in law said all girls in our family are March babies. We will see....
Surviving my first week of grad school. Let's just say I have been reading A LOT on educational democracy and organization.
Talking with my doula this week and discussing birth plan ideas was pretty special. Don't freak out but a home birth is a possibility. I will explain more later.
Also, tomorrow we will be celebrating Max and his 3rd birthday! We will be in Austin next week for a wedding so we get to celebrate Max a week early. Please pray that I feel good tomorrow so I can enjoy my boy and his special day.
