Summer Fun!

We have taken Summer very seriously this year.

We are not messing around. We have had play dates galore. We went to Hoots with Max's friend, Caeden. Max is about 3 months older then Caeden and they have a blast whenever they are together. I am usually exhausted after play dates with him because they are nonstop! On this particular day I forgot my Nikon, so I got one measly picture on my iPhone.
Play dates always end two ways; 1. Melt down and no nap, and then passed out before dinner or
2. Smoothly, and an indulgent 3 hour nap.

Here is what melt down and skipping nap looks like after play dates:
He slept through dinner and bath, he was a mess.

We have been enjoying summer sunrises. We are typically snuggled on the couch and watching through the windows.
Might I add, since summer break has begun, Max sleeps in like a teenager. I am ALWAYS up before he is. Mostly because I run early in the morning but otherwise I can not sleep past 8.

There have been lots of afternoon dates to Paradise Bakery for iced coffee and a scone or to some frozen yogurt spot. Here is Max after his very first bite of a scone:
He liked it... a lot :) He wouldn't be my kid if he didn't!

We are so thankful that Mimi and Pop have a pool. Like I have said before, Max loves the water. He loves to swim and since swim lessons our little fish can dive under the water and get toys, he can swim to another person on his own (short distances of course), he can back float all on his own, and his favorite is to jump off the step, go under the water and have me pull him up.

All smiles on our way to swim!
He is just so excited!

Phil and I, after Max is in bed, always hang out on our patio and watch the sunset together. It is a great way to end our day and just spend some quiet time together. We have witnessed some great lightning storms that have teased us, making us think that rain would follow. No such luck!

We have been staying up much later then usual, eating watermelon by the gallon, we constantly smell like sunscreen and 50% of the time we are in our swimsuits.
Yep. Sounds just like Summer!
