Another week has passed. I think that I will skip my weekly updates and check in one or two times a month. I don't want to overdose on running info ;) However, I do like to look back and see how training has been since the beginning.
This week was easy. I did a 3, 4, 3, and 7 mile run. I was scheduled to run 5 but I pushed myself. A bad thing? Maybe. I woke up Saturday morning and it was humid out. So I was sweating before I even began my ran. Because it was so humid, I pushed myself pretty hard. I just wanted to be done! I averaged a 9 minute mile. I also forgot to eat breakfast before my run. Actually I didn't forget, I was not hungry. Phil and I went out for date night and I ate WAY to much the night before.
After my long run, my dear friend gave birth to her beautiful baby girl. I went to go visit and snap some pictures. On my drive home I was beginning to feel sick. I ended up throwing up all night. I am not sure if I ate something bad or if maybe I was dehydrated from my run. Either way it was awful.
So I did not run today. I had a 3 mile scheduled for today but I will run it tomorrow. I figured one more day to rest my sensitive tummy would be best.
I picked up some new running shoes...finally! I hate to say it, but I didn't buy Brooks! I purchased a pair of Sauconys. This will be my first pair ever of Sauconys. I ran in them at the store and I loved how they formed to my foot. I just hope I love them as much tomorrow during my run.
goodbye old....
hello new....
While I was there I also bought some new running gear. I bought a running skirt. At first I was hesitant to try it on, but my oh my! It is super comfy and cute :) I also bought some running tops, as my others were old. I have not bought new running gear in over a year! After 450 plus miles I needed some new tops!
People say that running is a cheap sport because no equipment is required. Its a lie. New shoes are about $140 and clothing ranges from $25 to $100+ bucks a piece. I guess it is much cheaper then other sports, so I won't complain.
Running Schedule:
Tuesday 3 miles
Wednesday 5 miles
Thursday 4 miles
Saturday 7 miles
Pilates and yoga will hopefully find its way into my schedule this week!
