Marathon Monday

I finally had a EXCELLENT running week. I was able to fit in all my runs and increase my speed.

I ran 5 miles, 4 miles, 5 miles and then 8 miles as my long run. I found out that after 2.5 miles I cruise. I think it takes my body about 2 ish miles to FULLY warm up. Since figuring that out, I take the first 2 miles a little easier and then I push myself around 2.5 and on.

Something really stupid I did before my long run this week was take a body pump class at my gym. I figured I would be fine. NOT! I was so sore while running. My butt and thighs were on fire. I am still sore! Don't you worry, it won't happen again.

Nothing really exciting to discuss this week. I will be purchasing some new running shoes as this current pair just hit 400 miles!!! What?!?! I never wait this long for shoes. I try to replace shoes around 250-300 miles. But it gets expensive. I always try on numerous brands of shoes but I faithfully buy Brooks. Brooks work well with my feet. They have the perfect amount of cushion and I need cushion!

I ran 3 miles this morning and clocked at 9:09 average. Pretty good considering I ate pizza, chocolate ice cream and a margarita the night before. I give myself cheat days. Yesterday was one of them. Otherwise, I stick to a pretty healthy diet.

Side note: After my run this morning I had to go to the dentist to get a filling. My first filling ever!!! It is awful. Not painful, but my face has been numb for the last 3 hours and I am SOOOOOO over it. I am attempting to eat a super soft pear. I probably look ridiculous. But this girl is hungry :)

Tuesday: Pilates
Wednesday: 4 miles
Thursday: 4 miles
Friday: ???
Saturday: 6 miles
Sunday: REST
