Balloon Fiesta

Every year Albuquerque hosts the International Balloon Fiesta. I have lived here a little over three years and this was my first experience at the Balloon Fiesta. I have no words to describe how amazing it is. I have never seen a hot air balloon up close before, and let me tell you, they are GINORMOUS!
I think the most amazing thing is watching how quickly they ascend and then the wind guides them gracefully throughout the sky.
Thousands of people come to this event. You have to wake up super early. We were up at 4:30 a.m. and out the door by 5:00 a.m. We were able to see all the balloons inflate and lift off. Max was such a trooper. I am pretty sure he had the most fun. He kept saying, Look mama! I see balloons. Balloons in the sky mama. WOW!

Not only does the Balloon Fiesta have tear drop shaped balloons, they have special shape balloons.
The cow was Maxwell's favorite. He would say, the cow is jumping over the moon, moo!
They say that this is one of the most photographed events. I could believe it. I took over 400 pictures!
We had such a great time. The weather wasn't too chilly and this boys smile made it that much more amazing. He was in awe! I hope to remember his excitement forever.
This shot was taken as we were leaving.
It really is beautiful!
