a whole lot of Easter

Y'all know that Easter is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. And celebrate we did. Our tradition is to wake up at an unheard of hour to make it to Sunrise Service.  We rush, chug coffee, make sure tiny toddler shoes are buckled and we are out the door. We were able to intimately worship with Jars of Clay this year along with 20,000 others. It was gorgeous. It was peaceful.  I was even able to soak in sleepy snuggles with my boy.

This year we did something new. We dyed eggs. We had Mimi, Pop, and Aunt Sarah join us. I think that Max had more fun splashing around in all the vinegar aroma colors.

Mimi was a huge help. Apparently she has done this once or twice before. Thanks Mimi!!
I usually host Easter, but this time we took the party over to Mimi and Pop's house. The Easter Bunny was very good to Max. He is a smart bunny because he left a basket at our house and Mimi's house too.  Thanks Easter Bunny ;)

The weather was perfect for bubble blowing lessons from Pop. He had a ton of fun. And those pursed lips blowing as hard as he can, are to die for.

This boy mastered the art of blowing bubbles. Of course during the bubble blowing lesson, bubbles were spilled and swallowed.
No Easter would be complete with out an official Easter Egg Hunt. This boy was a pro. He swiped all the eggs his little eyes could find.
No explanation was needed. He knew what to do. Look at the determined  face.
I think that maybe he had a little help from others.
Through out the day I couldn't help but notice just how much Max has grown.

He is a boy. Independent. Happy. Kind. Rambunctious. All that a boy needs to be. This boy, who only last year couldn't walk or talk, makes any holiday, or day for that matter, much more special. He is growing into the little man that I am praying for.

Seeing his eyes soak up all the excitement of early sunrises, praises to the Lord, the Easter Bunny, bubbles blowing in the Spring breeze, and brightly colored eggs hidden in green grass really puts life into perspective. The innocence of a sweet child is how we should live.

However you and yours celebrate, we wish you all a very Happy Easter.

Look into the eyes of the babes that are among you and soak up the pure joy that they radiate.

I hope you are able to enjoy the newness that this Spring Holiday brings. It's not about death. It's about life.
Mark 16:6

Please excuse me, but I have a very important date with this sweet angel dreaming of bunny tails and carrot cake.
