Marathon Monday...

... on Tuesday!

A day late. Story of my life lately.

So running has been going great. I have kept up with all my mileage. This last Saturday I ran 10 miles. The 10 miles were easy. The construction that is going on around my house was NOT easy. I have a nice trail to run near my house but I have to run about a mile from my house to get there. Worst mile ever. I was literally zig zagging across the street to avoid the mess. Lesson learned. I will run a different trail this Saturday. Albuquerque is blessed with the bosque. The only issue with running along the bosque is it is very secluded. I am too afraid to run early mornings there all alone. I will figure something out.

My last two runs have been tough! I just haven't been in the groove. I have also been feeling super sleepy lately. My fear is that I am coming down with something. I usually do cross training with weights one day a week as well as pilates and I wonder if I am doing too much. So instead of doing my cross training today, I took a rest day.

Today, I had to complete another biometric screening for my insurance. Last time I did this I was told that my cholesterol was high and that my good cholesterol was low and my bad cholesterol was high. Ya'll know that I worked my tail off to lower it and I did. My numbers today were excellent. My cholesterol is in the desirable range my good cholesterol is high and my bad cholesterol is low. Another interesting thing was my body fat is low for a woman. After talking to the doctor, I found out that my body fat is most likely so low because of my marathon training as well as my almost vegan/vegetarian diet. My body fat is in the athletic range.

I am slightly concerned with keeping up my mileage when I return to work. I do work part time but my training schedule has me running on some days that I work. I am trying to figure out how I am going to squeeze in an 8 mile run before having to get ready for work?!? My duty day starts at 7:30 a.m. I guess I could run in the afternoon but after being gone from Max during the day I most certainly do not want to be gone running. I am sure I will figure something out.

So all in all, training is going great, I feel great, my time is improving and I am still having fun.
