This story is too sweet not to share with you all.
On Thursday one of my students came in late. Here is how our conversation went down.
Me: Hey darling! Why are you late?
Student: Oh, I had a doctors appointment. But is Max feeling better?
(the day before Max was very sick, I told the kids that I may miss Thursday (my birthday) if he was still sick)
Me: That is so nice of you to ask, he is doing much better thank you.
The morning proceeds as usual. I take the kids out to recess and the same student hangs around me.
Student: So, Mrs. Friedman, Max really feels better?
Me: Yep, he is like a new kid. All better.
Student: That is good.
She continues to prance around me.
Me: Sweetie, do you want to tell me something?
Student: Yes! I am so happy Max is better. Because last night I prayed, you know to God, I prayed that he would feel better. And he does feel better. God listened!
Me: That is so awesome and very sweet of you. Thanks darling!
She is a very sweet little girl. Her heart is very generous and I will never forget this. Teaching is so rewarding!
Oh my goodness. how cute is that. I think I just cried.
