Big Boy Room

Before I even began with the photos of the new big boy room, I would like to share with you a little secret. I have always said I would NEVER do a Disney or cartoon theme anything. I always thought it looked cheap and tacky.

(getting ready to paint and decorate!)

Well you see I said all that before I had a 2 year old. A 2 year old who loves Cars. A 2 year old that knows how to bat those beautiful blue eyes and say pease mommy.

I knew the time was coming to transition to a toddler bed. I was dreaming of gray chevron with splashes of yellow.

Then our neighbor who is moving asked us if we wanted a toddler bed for Max. We said we would like to see it and it was all down hill from there. Seeing Max's face was worth going back on what I said I would never do. He was in love.

So here we are. With a Cars themed room. And Max, he is in heaven. He just goes and hangs out in his room. It is super cute.

The first night in his bed was HORRIBLE. He never got out of bed. I told him he had to ask me first before he got out of bed. He obeyed. He asked for me all night. He sang all night. I knew sleep wasn't happening when Max stood up on his bed and was singing Jesus Loves Me at 3:00 a.m. But since that dreaded night all has been fine. He sleeps. All night! Woot!!!

So here is the room. Enjoy!

I was sad to say goodbye to the nursery furniture. It was crazy to think how much has happened, how much he has grown, since we brought him home. I will never ever forget walking into this room with a 3 day old babe in my arms telling him this was his nursery. I sat on the glider and rocked him and nursed him and cried. And here I am almost two and half years later crying because he is a little boy. A little boy with his own personality. A little boy with an attitude like his momma. But his is still my baby. I wonder if I will always look at him like that once small newborn baby?
