Last night, Phil and I got all dolled up and had an evening out. Just the two of us. We went to a late dinner, walked around old town, drank my favorite wine, kissed at midnight, it was perfect.
Can you spot anything out of place in this picture above???
We woke up early this morning even though our evening ended rather late. We grabbed some Starbucks, a warm americano is just what I needed. We picked up Max from his Mimi and Pop's house. He had so much fun staying with them. I am forever grateful that we have family here to help us out.
We came home and discussed our trip to Disneyland. We are in the beginning stages but OH! MY! GOODNESS! I am so excited to take Max.
While we were discussing our trip, Max comes up to Phil and says, that is yucky, I no drink anymore. Phil asked him what he drank and Max showed him what it was. My heart STOPPED! He somehow got a hold of the Vick's liquid that goes in my vaporizer. He didn't get the lid of (thank goodness) but he did lick the bottle which had the camphor all over it. I immediately called Poison Control. They are so super helpful. I had to flush his mouth with water and force liquids. I also had to watch him for two hours to make sure he wasn't acting out of sorts. He is fine. But that was so scary. It was a reminder that even though he is growing up I can not turn my back, he is still learning what is safe and what is off limits.
After all that drama, we settled down and played. Max got a shopping cart from his Mimi and we of course had to go shopping...in my pantry.
During Max's indulgent 3 1/2 hour nap, I was able to snuggle up on the couch and finish, The Hunger Games. At first I couldn't get into it. But I did. I could not put it down. Excellent read! I will start the next one in the series tonight. My kindle has been working over time lately :)
We ended the day eating dinner with the family, just like we always do on Sundays. A great way to end the week and welcome the new one ahead.
Phil and I both go back to work this week. This time of year always flies. With me being part time I can only imagine how fast it will go. I am looking forward to seeing friends and my class.
I will miss having Phil around to help. I am sure Max will miss his daddy as well. But like I told Phil tonight, not many people get that much time off at the end of the year. We are very thankful of our schedules. I am thankful we were able to enjoy quality family time!

My alarm is set for too early (4:30 a.m.). Hello reality. I don't work tomorrow, I have a date with the gym :)
My sweet boy all snuggled up ready for sweet dreams.
It was the perfect way to welcome 2012. A little bit of husband time, a little bit of drama, family, lots of playing, lots of relaxing, and even more hugs and kisses. I can't think of a better way.
...cannot find anything "out of place"...is this one of those jokes I can never figure out? LOL Happy New Year!!
