Holiday Mish Mash

Ugh! Worst blogger ever! Sorry, sorry, sorry. I have been SO busy with family, eating, more family, and even more eating. We are all alive and well. We have been soaking up this holiday time and enjoying every minute of it. The good news is, life is slowly going back to normal. Normal as in we are all going to bed at a decent hour and I am not eating sugar cookies around the clock.

So with that, let me start with Hanukkah.
Could this boy look any more adorable?

Waiting so patiently to open gifts...

Each year my in laws host a wonderful meal and celebration for Hanukkah. I love how much Max enjoys it. He really enjoys the menorah that sings the same tune over and over and over again, if you look closely at the picture above, the singing menorah is located at the bottom corner.

Our little family tradition is to go to the River of Lights each December. This year we went and it was FREEZING. Like 20 degrees freezing. Even though I couldn't feel my toes or my nose we had fun.

I couldn't get this 2 year old to pose for a family picture for the life of me. I even tried to bribe him with candy and cocoa.

Christmas Eve we ventured out to church. Church was amazing. The worship was phenomenal. If you have a few minutes to spare, listen to it. It is long, so skip the first 5 minutes or so. I love our church!
When we came home there was a surprise waiting for Max. You will never guess who came to our house while we were at church?!?!
We made a cake for Jesus. It was so much fun. We really enjoyed the frosting. Max picked the pink frosting.

Max enjoyed having his Grandma here to help with all the Christmas activities.

Of course we made cookies for Santa. We left some carrots for the reindeer. Max was so excited that Santa was coming to his house. The magic in his eyes was darling. I love being a mommy. It makes life so much more fun!

Christmas morning began at 4:00 a.m. Max woke up from a nightmare. He told me that Santa was screaming. Poor baby.  I brought him upstairs in bed with me. He slept till about 6:30. It was a gift for me. I enjoyed having him snuggle in my arms, against my chest. This doesn't happen much anymore.

When we came downstairs Max and I read the letter from Santa. Santa really enjoyed the cookies.

We then got to opening the presents. His favorites included all the Veggie Tales goodies and Lego's. I had no idea how expensive Lego's were. My goodness!

I hosted Christmas dinner. It was a nice evening filled with yummy food and family. Max liked sharing what he got from Santa while we sipped our coffee and ate our pie.

We ended Christmas watching, The Little Drummer Boy and thanking Jesus for all our wonderful blessings. I hope that your Christmas was Merry.
Next on our agenda is kisses and hugs from a darling 2 year old and a night away with just the hubby for New Years Eve.

Oh! and if you were wondering what was in that little red box from my hubby and Max, it was a gorgeous necklace from the Vintage Pearl. I will post a picture soon. I  LOVE it!
