ONE NINE

19

Maxwell is 19 months old today!

This post will not be like my other monthly updates of me sweet boy. He is in fact a boy. Eats everything edible and not.  He enjoys his independence. His snuggles seem few and far between. Unless of course a new tooth is coming through or he is scared. Then this independent boy wants to be held in his mommy's arms, his head resting on my chest and his legs dangling over my arm. I drink those moments in. I make sure to enjoy every second of it because who knows when the next time I will get a snuggle.

 He wants to be like mommy and daddy. He wants to sit in a chair like a big boy. He will tell me, sit chair mommy. So, of course I let him. And then I proceed to take 20 pictures of this new moment. But as a mother, isn't that my job?

He thinks that he is a professional gymnast. He will climb up and down just about anything, including me. Daddy thinks that it is fun. Mommy thinks that it is dangerous and my heart stops a few times each day.

 He loves to read. His nose is always in a book. He will actually pick up a story, tell us to read it, and then proceed to finish the sentences (only with books that we have read many many times) as we read them.

He is very concerned about his daddy lately. Always asks, where's dada?, daddy play. daddy hold you? I think this is a daddy phase. He loves his daddy so. Even though it hurts sometimes when he says, no mommy, daddy!, I am so proud of their relationship. It is truly something special. Maybe it is because I do not have a relationship with my father, but I could just watch them interact for hours and my heart explodes with love for them. These are my boys. All mine!
{yes they are wearing matching shirts}

Max always has something to say. He has an opinion about anything and everything. He has been in time out. He is beginning to bite. He throws fits, just with mommy and daddy. He loves music. He loves fish. He loves to sing. He wants to walk everywhere. He will tell me what he wants and he will tell me if he doesn't like something, this is yuck mommy! Each day he amazes me. He says something or does something that stops me in my tracks and I am just in awe.
I  love him so!

  1. Landon is such a daddy's boy! I'm right there with you, i love it, but at the same time it breaks my heart! As soon soon as Shaun gets home from work, it is all about daddy and he has no interest in hanging out with me anymore! :( But watching them together is amazing, even if I am jealous sometimes!
