More Dessert!

Max's babysitter has a daughter. We will call her H. H was in my class two years ago. She was bubbly and bright and so easy to love. And she still is. She is a doll!

H and I spend time in the car almost every day. I take her to school and back home. It is just easiest as her momma is watching my boy.

Anyways!

H and I share how our days were as I drive her home. I always ask what was the best part of your day and she always jokingly responds, seeing you. She has a great sense of humor. On one particular day I must have looked stressed. She asked me how my day was. I responded by saying something along the lines of, it was tough, I just have too much on my plate.

And her response blew me away.

She very calmly said, too many vegetables not enough dessert. I looked at her and she then said, you know you don't really like to eat vegetables you would rather have dessert. You need more dessert Mrs. Friedman.

I smiled and said, yes, way too many vegetables.

This was some unexpected advice from a 9 year old girl.

H is full of wisdom. H has helped me more then she probably will ever know. I will always make sure to have a large amount of dessert on my plate.

Johanna you have done a great job raising such a beautiful spirit. I hope I can do the same for Max.
