I was awake around 5:30. I was like a child the night before Christmas. I tossed, I turned, I was just so excited for morning to arrive. I waited very patiently until the birthday boy woke up. I figured it would be best to let him sleep on his special day.
At 6:30 Maxwell woke up. I made sure to sing Happy Birthday as soon as his blue eyes opened. He was standing up and dancing as I was singing, super cute. I took him into the kitchen to show him his presents and he was very curious.

I moved the presents into the living room so he could tear them open. And that is exactly what he did!
I didn't let him open all of his presents, because I wanted to save some for his party. He surely didn't seem to mind!
After our sugar high, play time, and nap we went to Explora. The best way to explain Explora is a hands on science museum for kids...but us adults sure had fun. Max's Uncle Nathan joined us and this was a special treat because Max LOVES his Uncle Naf:)
The Birthday Boy all ready to go!
After Max's VERY long nap we met up with Mimi, Pop, Aunt Sarah, and Uncle Naf for dinner. We went to Chili's, one of Max's favorite places to eat. Once we finished with dinner we went back to our home so Max could open some more presents!
Uncle Naf got him this awesome lawn mower, and let me tell how much Max loves it. If I would let him sleep with it, he totally would!
Maxwell's birthday was so special. A day that I will never forget, but this boy sure knew what to do to make it that much more special. He took his first step. I am so proud of you monkey toes!
The birthday boy had a very fun day. Once he fell fast asleep, mommy was up rolling fondant and decorating cakes for his birthday party. I had a ton to do that night and the next morning. I had to decorate, pick up the balloons, and pick my mom up from the airport, all before 11 a.m. Lets just say I was tired, but found the energy within so my boys party would be special.
Birthday Party!
A lot of these pictures explain themselves. We had an absolute blast. Max did so good with all the guests. He made sure to open each toy and play with it before he ripped open another one. The day was filled with many laughs, I teared up a little, and great company. Thank you all who came and made Maxwell's 1st birthday special.

And thanks babe for going around the pool with him a million times...you are a wonderful daddy!

The party was just perfect. I couldn't have asked for it to go any better. My Maxwell had a fabulous time and that is all that matters!
I am still trying to figure out what to do with all this...
