Ramblings!

I go back to work on Thursday. I am sad. However, I know that I am going to be okay and more importantly, Max will be okay. This is a bittersweet time. I will miss my boy and of course I would SO rather be with him but I am excited for the school year. I was meant to teach. I love setting up the classroom, I love sharpening the pencils and preparing the small desks for each new little person that I will grow to love. So here we go again. Hello to the new school year and goodbye to my summer.

Speaking of my summer, I enjoyed spending 3 months with my family. The beauty of Philip teaching is that we have the same holidays and breaks off together. So not only do I get to spend oodles and oodles of time with Max I get to spend that time with my husband as well.

The things that I will miss most about summer include...
* having no set schedule
* napping with Max
* daily walks to the park
* swimming in the early afternoon
* lunches on the patio
* reading books of my choice
* snuggling with my family in the early morning
* zoo trips with friends
* travel
...my list really could go on forever, but I think you get the point.

Maxwell is going to be
1 in 3 weeks. I am proud to say that his birthday is 95% ready.

Invites are sent off!
Decorations are ready to be hung!
Presents are purchased and wrapped!

All I need to do is turn these 2 cake pans into something edible and adorable.

I will be practicing with Phil's birthday cake on Friday. PRAY FOR ME :)

I also need to purchase the food and beverages, but I can't do that until I receive all the RSVP's.
I also need to purchase the party favors, which I know what I am buying so this shouldn't be bad.

Sneak Peak into the BIG
1ST Birthday!

Since we have recently redecorated our master suite, Max and I like to spend our mornings there after I feed him. He has become quite fond of my desk chair. We have had a lot of special mommy and son moments upon this chair!

Smiles
Hugs
and kisses!

We have a special spot at our park. It is located under a big tree that offers us much needed shade during our picnics and playtime. We have created some pretty awesome memories here at this park (thank goodness its only a hop, skip, and jump away from our home).

I love seeing the bond between Max and Philip grow.

Daddy loves his little dude and Little Dude sure loves his daddy!

Maxwell thinks that it is necessary to leave food behind for the birds...

The absolute best thing about our little park is this...

Even though it is going to feel next to impossible to leave this sweet baby on Thursday morning...
I know that as soon as my day is done, I will race to my car, rush to the sitters house and I will be greeted with this heart stopping, soul kissing smile.
