Melt My Heart...Stop My Heart

I usually take Max to the babysitter's house in the morning. However, today I had a meeting bright and early so daddy had to take him. As I was saying my 20 minute good bye to Max, he rested his head on my shoulder and said in the sweetest voice 'mama'. It was music to my ears! Did he know he was calling me mama? I'm not too sure...but still it was SO sweet! It was a perfect way to start my day!

Max genuinely gives kisses now. His kisses are few and far between. Philip captured him kissing me this morning. His kisses are with a very open and slobbered filled mouth and I wouldn't change them one bit, they are just perfect.
Do you notice that his mouth covers my lips completely? What a sweet baby!

Stop My Heart

We recently bought Max a new mattress. Phil and I bought Max the Simmons Beauty Rest Memory Foam. It seemed to be the best one that we could find. We have the Angel Care Monitor in his room. This monitor detects movement, has sound, measures the temperature in his nursery, and if the monitor doesn't detect movement or sound within 20 seconds in sets off a VERY loud alarm. I wanted this monitor for a peace of mind. Knowing that Max is breathing helps me to sleep a thousand times better. I also wanted this monitor because his nursery is downstairs and it tells me if his room is too hot or too cold. To get to the point of my story, the other night at 1:00 a.m. the alarm went off. NO MOTHER EVER WANTS TO HEAR THAT NOISE AND THINK THAT THEIR CHILD IS NOT BREATHING! I am pretty sure that Phil and I were downstairs in .02 seconds. As we ran into his nursery, he was crawling across his crib. Phil and I caught our breath, thanked the Lord that he was okay, and were absolutely dumbfounded as to why the alarm went off. After I did a TON of research and read the manual word for word, I found out that the monitor DOES NOT work with a memory foam mattress. UGH! At least we found out what the problem was. So we exchanged the mattress for a coiled mattress and we have not had any problems.
Today I can look back and laugh. I just hope that we don't EVER have to go through that again!
