I was unable to hold Max the moment he was born. There was meconium in my water and the umbilical cord was wrapped around his little neck. Max had to be watched by the NICU for the first 30 minutes of his life. Around 8:00 p.m. I was able to hold Max for the first time. The love that I felt that instant is indescribable! A love that is unfathomable, a love that I am so thankful to understand.
